Position Summary

The Aggregate Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of front-end loaders and other heavy equipment to move, load, and stockpile aggregate materials. This role plays a critical part in daily yard operations by ensuring timely loading of customer trucks, maintaining material quality, and supporting overall site productivity. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong equipment operating skills, attention to safety, and a commitment to maintaining equipment and site standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate front-end loaders to load customer trucks with sand, gravel, crushed stone, and other aggregate materials.
  • Build and maintain stockpiles according to site specifications.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and complete required equipment checklists.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance including greasing, cleaning, fueling, and minor adjustments.
  • Monitor material quality and report any contamination or inconsistencies.
  • Communicate effectively with scale operators, dispatch, drivers, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, including yard maintenance and debris removal.
  • Follow all company safety policies, Ministry of Labour regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Identify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
  • Assist with snow removal and seasonal site maintenance as required.
  • Support additional yard or plant duties assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating a front-end loader in an aggregate, construction, or similar heavy industrial environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Heavy equipment operator certification considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of safe equipment operation and load management.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for routine equipment upkeep.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekends during peak season.

Working Conditions

  • Operational hours: Monday to Friday – 6:30am to 5:00pm Hourly Range is $30-$32

  • Seasonal from April to December

  • Frequent climbing in and out of equipment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.

  • Comfortable working in dusty, noisy, and outdoor environments
