SCOPE OF POSITION**:**
The Supporter Growth and Engagement Officer is responsible for growing Oxfam’s supporter base by developing content and actions, primarily digital, to engage a variety of audiences around Oxfam’s mission and vision. The Officer will leverage innovative digital best practices and channels to raise awareness around the injustice of poverty and inequality, encourage engagement, deepen Oxfam’s value proposition and inspire action by new and existing supporters.
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Direct Response, they will work in close collaboration with other members of the Fund Development department and the Policy, Campaigns and Communications department, to increase the number of active annual supporters who participate in solidarity actions, sign-ups, and advocacy campaigns, and help nurture the supporters journey to becoming a long-term supporter and donor and contribute to the organization’s broader marketing and fundraising goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:**(This is not an exhaustive list of duties to be performed)
Strategy, Planning and Execution:

Participate in planning sessions with department stakeholders to propose, develop and deliver lead generation plans and products (such as quizzes, tripwires, e-books, petition actions, solidarity letters, events) that have broad public appeal and inspire support.

Coordinate and deliver the annual supporter growth plan, calendar and critical path
-
Contribute to the development of compelling engagement-oriented content for key target audiences (advocates, donors, etc.) and for various communications channels (web, social media, print, emails) to support goals and objectives.

Coordinate initiatives internally and with outside vendors to deliver digital campaigns for mass lead generation and new supporter acquisition, while maximizing ROI.

Support the fundraising team in the development and implementation of a comprehensive digital strategy to maximize and coordinate lead generation and engagement opportunities through digital channels.

Strengthen our in-house supporter growth strategy, both organic and paid, in alignment with the fundraising / marketing strategy.

Work with the policy and advocacy team to develop and deliver compelling advocacy campaigns that create political change and inspire public mobilization.

Work with the fundraising team as needed to deliver and maximize new supporter welcome automations and other strategies to inspire solidarity action takers to donate
-
Work with the communications team to leverage brand partnerships and sponsorships to strengthen Oxfam’s brand, with the primary goal of acquiring new supporters and engage them in Oxfam Canada’s work.

Support and deliver public opinion polling, as well as brand awareness and brand pulse surveys.

Lead special projects as required.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning:
-
Monitor and analyze program performance and effectiveness against benchmarks and KPI’s; produce post-campaign and annual reports
-
Run segmentation reports, analyze supporter engagement trends, share insights and make recommendations
-
Contribute to the evaluation of outcomes of communications and outreach activities,
-
Set up tracking codes and Ensure the data from Oxfam Canada’s lead generation activities is reflected in the CRM (Salesforce and Engaging Networks) and follows existing data mapping rules.

Monitor the external environment and stay abreast of current trends and best practices in marketing, digital marketing and engagement, e-commerce and digital philanthropy.

Where relevant, work with external consultants and contractors.
-

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES**:**

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or equivalent combination of experience and education.
-
3-5 years of communications, digital marketing and digital campaigning experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
-
Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to global justice, social change, women’s rights and gender equality.
-
Proven track record in Lead Generation campaigns.
-
Awareness of digital trends, ability to quickly learn new digital tools and adapt to new technologies.
-
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; French an asset.
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, in a self-directed manner, to prioritize and manage workloads in a fast-paced environment.
-
Ability to build and maintain respectful and effective relationships with managers, staff and volunteers
-
Experience managing contracts and workloads with multiple third-party contractors, agencies and service providers.
-
Knowledge of fundraising principles and/or fundraising experience is an asset.
-
Knowledge of Salesforce and Engaging Networks an asset.
-
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize work and manage multiple projects with high efficiency, accuracy and enthusiasm.

Willingness to sign and abide by the Oxfam Code of Conduct.
