Position: Sales Consultant
Type: Fulltime Permanent
Location: Fort St. John, BC
Compensation: Expected earnings of $100,000 to $250,000 annually, consisting primarily of commission. High performers may exceed this range. Compensation varies based on sales performance.

Position Overview:
As a Commercial Truck Sales Consultant, you will be the key point of contact for customers seeking high-quality commercial trucks and services. Your role will involve building strong relationships with both new and existing clients, identifying their needs, and offering tailored solutions to meet those needs. With your in-depth product knowledge and passion for sales, you will drive revenue growth and contribute to the overall success of the dealership.
Job Duties:
- Greet and assist customers professionally, both in-person and over the phone
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of on-lot and incoming inventory throughout company including makes, models, and specifications
- Build truck specifications using Freightliner’s SpecPro software
- Prepare accurate quotes and pricing for both custom and in-stock units
- Prospect new business through cold calls and relationship building
- Visit customers in the designated territory as needed
- Maintain and update customer activity in Arcadium CRM.
- Foster long-term customer relationships through consistent follow-up and support
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, PDI, and body shop repairs with the Sales Coordinator and Service Department.
- Order inventory units and manage custom truck builds based on market needs
- Build and maintain relationships with body builders and vendors
- Deliver vehicles or relocate units as required
- Conduct walk-arounds with customers upon delivery to review features and confirm satisfaction
- Negotiate sales deals aligned with company targets and customer needs
- Complete all required DTNA Freightliner sales training on an annual basis
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in commercial truck, heavy equipment, or automotive sales
- Strong product knowledge or willingness to learn commercial truck specs and applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
- Experience using OEM spec’ing tools (Freightliner SpecPro preferred)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 or 1 a strong asset)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory
