About the role
Our client, a leading agribusiness in Ontario is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee customer service and operational excellence at their Orangeville facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient order fulfillment, inventory control and high-quality customer experience, while driving continuous improvement and team development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operational Leadership: Manage daily plant and warehouse operations including fertilizer blending, bagging and logistics
- Team Development: Coach and support staff to meet performance goals and foster a culture of accountability and growth
- Inventory Management: Lead shrink reduction initiatives, reconciliation processes and year-end counts
- Capital Projects: Support planning and execution of facility upgrades and equipment investments
- Recruitment & HR: Drive seasonal and full-time hiring, performance reviews and personalized development plans
- Health & Safety: Lead safety programs, inspections, and emergency response planning
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure responsible facility operations and liaise with partners on sustainability initiatives
- This is a hands-on role, busy times at the facility will require all team members contributing to get the job done
DESIRED PROFILE:
- Proven experience in operations management within agribusiness or a related industry
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives
- Knowledge of inventory systems, H&S regulations and environmental standards
- Previous experience operating equipment is an asset
