Network Administrator

Binnie is seeking a Network Administrator to join our Head Office in Burnaby, situated near the scenic Deer Lake and City Hall area. This is a full-time position primarily based in Burnaby.
In this role, you will report to the Director of IT & Security, and work alongside a friendly and supportive team. You will provide IT support to managers and staff and are the “go-to” for related inquiries. Additionally, the Network Administrator is responsible for ensuring high uptime, reliability, and performance levels of critical operational network systems, and to participate in planning future strategic IT-related projects.
Your Role
- Troubleshoot advanced problems by clearly communicating, identifying, documenting, analyzing, and attending to the issue within a four-hour window and assign or escalate tickets as required
- Support clients personally at Head Office, remotely, and occasionally in satellite offices providing Level 1 and Level 2 Microsoft Windows Desktop support
- Fix Windows OS errors, network connectivity issues, printer support, software application support, data protection, and client security
- Lead the deployment of workstations and client configurations across multiple desktops
- Introduce new staff to Binnie’s IT structure and prepare them for IT Orientation on their first day of work
- Review site reports for satellite offices and update site documentation such as building codes, names of servers, voice routers, and IP addresses
- Manage client data backup jobs, testing accuracy, and reviewing backup reports
- Participate in strategic IT Projects to move the company forward technologically
- Install and configure Cisco networking equipment
- Change management of Cisco networking equipment
- Install and configure, and change management of Ubiquiti networking equipment
- Perimeter Firewall management and plan for future data and voice networks expansion
What You Bring
- Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Microsoft certification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Information Technology in systems support, with a focus on customer service and technical assistance
- Experience in computer software, hardware, network and database technologies covering 350+ employees and equipment
- Experience with Cisco IOS Routing & Switching
- Experience with Windows Server Administration
- Strong knowledge of Windows Client & Server operating systems
- Experience with Azure, Office 365 and cloud identity management
- Experience with ticketing and monitoring systems
- Solid understanding of managing and deploying a Windows Enterprise environment
- Thorough understanding of support and deployment tools for Windows
- Proficient with Azure, Entra , M365 Administration and Microsoft PowerShell scripting
- Good understanding of Cisco IOS routing & switching configurations
- Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to juggle multiple urgent demands calmly
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to prioritize requests according to value, with a high level of empathy and responsiveness
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
