Position Overview This is a critical role at the heart of our ML development process. As a Medical Image Analyst, you will lead
our data annotation, curation and quality control efforts, ensuring that our machine learning models are built
upon the foundation of accurate, consistent, and clinically relevant information. You will leverage your deep
understanding of medical imaging and anatomy to manage, annotate, and curate datasets from various modalities, including CT and MRI. This is a hands-on role for a meticulous and knowledgeable technologist who is passionate about enabling the next generation of AI-powered cardiovascular diagnostics.
General Responsibilities
- Perform expert-level, detailed annotations of medical images, such as segmenting cardiovascular structures, placing landmarks, and identifying pathologies.
- Write standard operating procedures, annotation guidelines and protocols to ensure consistency across all projects and annotators.
- Critically review and assess the quality of annotations provided by external clinical experts (radiologists, cardiologists), providing constructive feedback to maintain the highest standards.
- Perform rigorous quality control checks on incoming data to ensure it meets project specifications, including image quality, protocol adherence, and de-identification.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the machine learning team regarding all aspects of data.
- Work closely with ML Engineers and Scientists to understand their specific data needs for model training and validation.
- Provide expert feedback to the software team on the usability and functionality of our in-house annotation tools.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data collection, curation, and quality control workflows.
- Required Skills/Experience:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working directly with clinical medical images (CT and/or MRI) in aclinical, research, or industry setting.
- Strong understanding of cross-sectional human anatomy, experience with cardiovascular anatomy is considered as a strong asset.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a proven commitment to producing high-quality, precise work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and anatomical concepts clearly.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Previous experience in data annotation, labeling and curation role for AI/machine learning projects.
- Experience defining annotation guidelines or performing quality assurance on annotated data.
Educational Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Medical Imaging, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences (e.g., Anatomy, Physiology), or a related field.
