About the role

The Equipment Planner supports the planning and procurement of capital equipment across Covenant Health facilities and programs. Reporting to the Provincial Manager, the Planner works with site leaders, clinicians and technical stakeholders to identify equipment needs and assist with equipment prioritization and procurement activities. Responsibilities include supporting equipment requirements, participating in stakeholder and vendor meetings, assisting with procurement processes, and maintaining equipment information within asset management systems. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

A diploma or degree in biomedical technology/clinical engineering, nursing or allied health professions and/or associated health technology planning is required. Other related professions (i.e. engineering) will be considered. A minimum of five (5) years clinical, technical or planning management role is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2–5+ years working with medical devices, clinical engineering, project management, or capital equipment procurement. Exposure to clinical workflows and understanding how equipment affects patient care. Familiarity with facility design standards, including infection control, electrical and HVAC requirements, and patient ergonomics. Understanding of device categories (diagnostic imaging, monitoring, surgical, lab, rehab, IT‑integrated equipment). Ability to interpret technical specifications, vendor documentation, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical or clinical experience. Experience with e-Facilities or other asset management systems. Project management: timelines, risks, stakeholder communication (PMP an asset). Stakeholder engagement: clinicians, architects, vendors, contractors, IT, procurement. Technical writing: equipment lists, specifications, procurement documents. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail to avoid specification or installation errors.
