Lycopodium is looking to recruit for an Expeditor to join our growing Procurement team in Mississauga, Ontario.

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement & Contracts Management the Expeditor will:

The tasks you'll perform

  • Liaise with vendors to ensure progress of a purchase order or contract is in line with the purchase order / contract terms and conditions, goods / equipment specifications, and project schedule.
  • Liaise with Transport / Inspection coordinator and/or T&L contractor / coordinator to plan and prioritize safe shipping of materials and equipment.
  • Liaise with Materials Manager with regards to the inspection and subsequent release of goods and equipment.
  • Promptly report on any exceptions to committed delivery dates.
  • Acknowledge and record receipt of goods or completion of services to facilitate GRN processing and progressive milestone payments.
    • Maintain accurate and current materials management registers and reports.
  • Expedite materials and equipment in accordance with the terms and conditions of the purchase order or contract.
  • Assess the terms, conditions and nature of the purchase order to determine type of material and equipment being supplied, delivery date, payment requirements, point of supply and port of export, transport requirements, and urgency in relation to the project schedule.
  • Continually liaise with vendors to monitor and measure progress, address issues affecting delivery, and assess shipping requirements (weights, dimensions and volume).
  • Liaise with internal staff as required to seek clarification on a purchase order, receipt of documents, payment progress, etc.
  • Liaise with T&L contractor / coordinator and/or Materials Manager to manage collection of goods, container requirements, delivery priority and method (air, sea, road, etc.).

The expertise you'll bring

  • Proven experience as expediter or similar position in a construction or engineering environment
  • 3 + years of experience in project management
  • Understand technical specifications of material and various equipment
  • Excellent negotiation skills
