About the role
Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including inventory management, receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping. This role ensures operational efficiency, accuracy, and safety while leading warehouse staff and optimizing processes. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of warehouse systems and technology, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory tracking tools, and operational software to improve productivity and visibility across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse supervisors and associates
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through proper tracking, cycle counts, and system management
- Utilize and optimize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other operational technologies
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes through automation, technology, and data analysis
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, productivity, and inventory accuracy
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and company policies
- Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and operations teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations
- Manage warehouse layout, space utilization, and workflow efficiency
- Troubleshoot system or operational issues impacting warehouse performance
- Oversee equipment usage and maintenance, including forklifts and material handling systems
- Prepare reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational metrics
Qualifications
- 5+ years of warehouse or distribution experience
- 3+ years of leadership or management experience in a warehouse environment
- Strong knowledge ofWarehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory systems, operational technology and AI
- Experience implementing or improving warehouse systems or digital processes is a strong asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and warehouse reporting tools
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in high-volume distribution environments preferred
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in warehouse operations
