About the Role:
Our company is growing, and we are looking for a highly motivated and friendly individual to help us support our employees in the Sr. Systems Administrator role.
As a Sr. Systems Administrator, you will be a senior member of the IT Department, serving as the primary point of contact for internal support requests while also leading initiatives that improve the effectiveness and security of our IT environment. In addition to troubleshooting and providing day‑to‑day support, you will oversee the reliable operation of applications, workstations, network connectivity, and IT systems. This position requires strong communication with cross‑functional teams, resourcefulness, and excellent problem‑solving skills. Candidates must be team‑oriented, process‑driven, and capable of taking ownership of projects from planning through execution. The role also calls for solid technical knowledge of computer networks, hardware, Microsoft and Apple products, and the ability to apply that knowledge in both tactical support and strategic improvements.
The role is based in our Toronto location, and it is a full-time permanent, on-site position. In this role you will be reporting to the VP, Information Security & Privacy.
Essential Functions may include but not limited to:
- Communicate with employees to diagnose technical issues in-person and remotely, and assist them in using our set of applications and systems
- Set up workstations, manage user access, and support employee onboarding and offboarding
- Monitor and resolve support requests, ensuring timely responses, providing step-by-step instructions to employees, and making sure all requests are either resolved or transferred to the correct team
- Collaborate with engineers and department leaders to find solutions to more complex issues
- Participate in the protection of company information, systems, and infrastructure, including data, applications, and user access
- Lead IT projects to ensure the effective operation of IT systems, including responsibility for planning, coordination, and execution
- Configure and utilize management tools to ensure the secure and effective operation of IT systems, including monitoring performance and alerts for overall system health and reliability
- Explore and evaluate new and emerging software tools, technologies, and practices
- Research, verify, and document systems issues
- Assist managers and teams on ad hoc IT-related project work
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and professional development to expand technical knowledge and skills
- Work with AI agents and automation tools to enhance IT operations and support efficiency
- Perform other duties as requested
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience in system administration, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment
- Proven ability to lead IT projects and collaborate across departments to deliver effective technology solutions
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, iOS), networking equipment, and enterprise applications
- Familiarity with automation tools, scripting, and AI-driven solutions to improve IT operations
- Knowledge of IT security best practices and experience supporting compliance or regulatory requirements
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills with experience supporting both technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities with attention to detail
- Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent documentation skills, with a track record of creating clear processes and knowledge resources
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft O365, Azure, CompTIA, or ITIL are an asset
