What you’ll do:
As a Pre and Post Operative Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless surgical experience for our patients—before, during, and after their procedures. Your responsibilities will include direct patient care, clinical coordination, and support for our surgeons in providing outstanding service.
- Conduct all pre-operative appointments, including implant selection for breast surgeries
- Order breast implants and post-surgical compression garments
- Make post-surgical follow-up calls and maintain ongoing communication with patients
- Manage surgical patient inquiries and triage concerns via phone and email
- Coordinate with surgeons and support staff to ensure continuity of care
- Review and assess patient diagnostics including bloodwork, ECGs, and physician notes; liaise with anesthesiologists when necessary
- Prepare surgical charts and ensure documentation is complete for each procedure
- Maintain and oversee the crash cart to meet accreditation standards
- Order and restock drugs and instruments as needed
- Assist with surgical consultations, in-office procedures, and follow-up appointments
- Take clinical follow-up photos and obtain patient consent for use on clinic platforms
What you will bring along:
- Current registration with CNO as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Province of Ontario
- Active Membership with RNAO
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
- Experience in surgical nursing; experience in a private plastic surgery clinic is preferred
- Familiarity with clinic accreditation for level 1, 2, or 3 surgical facilities is an asset
- Certified in sterilization protocols
- Proficiency with EMR systems and strong computer skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and patient-centered approach
- Ability to educate patients on both surgical and non-surgical treatments
- High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential patient information
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to take initiative
