The Administrative Assistant for West GTA Stroke Network-Regional Program provides administrative support to the Regional Director, Medical Director and Regional Coordinators. This includes supporting the functions of the Regional Stroke Steering Committee and other associated committees/working groups. This role requires a dynamic, flexible individual who can take initiative and prioritize a wide range of tasks, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:

Education

  • Completion of a two-year college diploma program with a focus in Secretarial or Office Administration – Health services work

Experience

  • 2 – 5 years of experience as an administrative assistant
  • Experience within a health care setting preferred
  • Knowledge of the stroke system is an asset

Skills Required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong listening skills, and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Proficiency in minute taking, scheduling meetings, budget monitoring, and preparing reports
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of software applications – Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable making edits to Website
  • Demonstrated technical skills – computer software and audio-visual equipment
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and outside agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload demands

Due to the regional nature of this position some regional travel and flexibility of hours will be required occasionally.
