Role Description The 310T Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Gerry’s Truck Centre Ltd. in London, Woodstock or Listowel ON. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks, including performing engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical system work in accordance with manufacturer and safety standards. The technician will complete inspections and preventative maintenance, document repair findings, and prepare accurate work orders. Day-to-day tasks include using diagnostic tools and service manuals, collaborating with parts and service teams, communicating clearly with service advisors, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The role also requires staying current with Volvo Trucks and industry training to support high-quality service for customers.
Qualifications
Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician license (or equivalent), with strong experience in heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair. Proficiency in mechanical and electrical diagnostics, including engines, drivetrains, braking systems, and vehicle electronics. Ability to interpret service manuals, technical bulletins, and diagnostic reports, and to complete accurate repair documentation. Strong commitment to workplace safety, compliance with regulations, and adherence to manufacturer standards. Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with service advisors, parts personnel, and other technicians. Comfort using computerized diagnostic equipment and service software; familiarity with Volvo Trucks systems is an asset. Reliable work habits, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple repair tasks in a fast-paced shop environment. Secondary school diploma; additional technical training or certification in heavy-duty vehicle repair is an advantage.
