Construction - Electrician Journeyperson
About the role
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, our electrician Journeyperson must ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies. They will follow project specifications and timelines, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. Your key duties will include: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues as faulty wiring, malfunctioning circuits and equipment failure Properly and safely install, replace and repair electrical systems, lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels, including energy-efficient systems Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations, including in-slab installations. Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors. Splice, join, and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits. Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment. Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of the system following installation, replacement, or repair. Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components. Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices, and heating and cooling systems. Plan and execute electrical installations, including EMT and conduit work. Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records. Support the growth and development of company culture Performs other duties as required Required qualifications: 6 years of working experience in similar roles Knowledge of Federal/Provincial building codes. Completion of 4 years apprenticeship program Red Seal or Journeyman certificate or equivalent
Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10hrs day Must be able to lift 30-50lbs as needed Must be able to work in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures for 10hrs a day Submission of resume does not guarantee an interview or transfer.
