Position Summary The Funding Specialist will be reporting to the Director, National Mortgage Operations and will be responsible for receiving, verifying mortgage documentation by ensuring the implementation of the internal processes. In addition, the bilingual Funding Specialist will ensure preparation of weekly reports and follow-ups.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares daily forecast report of deals expected to fund.
- Action underwriter requests for instructions and reinstructions to be sent to FCT.
- Prepares and sends mortgage documents for instruction to FCT.
- Receives and verifies solicitor documentation accepted by FCT and ensure Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Client legislation have been complied with and meets Haventree Bank’s guidelines and policies.
- Monitors personal emails for status updates on files and relaying status to FCT.
- Maintains on-going communication with FCT by answering questions and concerns and ensuring follow-ups to the lawyer are accurate.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of files ready to fund on Delta.
- Prepares and requests funds to be released from Finance.
- Prepares daily batch funding report of deals that have funded on FCT.
- Completes the post-funding requirement to successfully board a deal to Cognos.
- Manages the lawyer database on Delta.
- Completes Finance’s weekly commission report for closed deals.
- Reviews and satisfies the lender requirements for Amending Agreements.
- Strictly adheres to all company, business area and AML/ATF policies and procedures.
- Fluent in French and English is a criteria.
Qualifications & Experience Degrees, Diplomas & Certifications:
- The position requires a college diploma
Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job:
- The position requires a up to 3 years related experience in residential mortgage funding, lending and/or mortgage administration.
- Solid understanding of residential mortgage products and funding procedures together with post funding processes.
- Fluent in French and English (reading, writing and spoken.)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, underwriting and servicing software platforms or Delta 360.
- Friendly attitude and strong professional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Able to quickly set priorities, remain disciplined and organize workload through effective time management.
