About the role

Company: BizSold

Job Type: Full-Time, Entry-Level Compensation: $20/hour + Performance-Based Incentive Structure Role Overview As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at BizSold, you play a crucial role in the success of our clients—franchisors and franchise brokers. This is a high-volume, pure appointment-setting role. You do not need to do any marketing, cold prospecting, or hunting for leads. Instead, you will be provided with a steady, daily stream of generated leads. Your objective is to rapidly contact these prospects, ask strategic qualifying questions, and schedule them for appointments directly on our clients' calendars. This entry-level position is designed to be a launchpad. We provide the training and industry exposure needed for high performers to advance internally at BizSold into a Sales/Account Executive (AE) or Customer Success Manager (CSM) role. Key ResponsibilitiesLead Engagement: Conduct high-volume outbound calls to warm, pre-provided leads who have expressed interest in business or franchise opportunities. Lead Qualification: Follow a proven framework to assess the prospect's budget, timeline, and seriousness to ensure they are a strong fit for our clients. Appointment Setting: Successfully convert qualified leads into booked meetings, scheduling them directly onto the calendars of the franchisors or franchise brokers we represent. Pipeline & Data Management: Accurately log all call outcomes, notes, and lead statuses within the CRM to ensure clear reporting for our clients. Continuous Improvement: Participate in regular coaching sessions to refine your phone skills, objection handling, and qualification techniques.

Career Growth Path

This role is built for upward mobility within BizSold. SDRs who consistently meet their appointment-setting targets have clear paths to promotion: Sales (Account Executive): Transition into selling BizSold’s marketing and lead-generation services directly to new franchisors and brokers, managing the full sales cycle with uncapped commission potential. Customer Success Manager (CSM): Move into account management, focusing on onboarding new clients, optimizing their campaigns, and ensuring they get the highest possible ROI from the appointments our SDR team sets. QualificationsExperience: Entry-level. Prior experience in phone-based customer service, call centers, or sales is a plus, but not required. Communication: Exceptional verbal communication skills. You must be highly comfortable, confident, and articulate spending your entire day on the phone. Execution-Focused: You thrive in a structured environment where the leads are provided and your sole focus is execution and conversion. Resilience: Ability to maintain high energy, handle objections gracefully, and persistently follow up with leads. Drive: Highly motivated by hitting daily targets, earning incentive pay, and advancing your career. Compensation Base Pay: $20 per hour. Incentives: Lucrative commission and bonus structure based on the number of qualified appointments you successfully set for our clients. Training: Comprehensive onboarding, call scripts, and continuous professional development to help you master the role and prepare for promotion.

Founded in 1998

The Business Exchange generates volumes of high-quality leads for business brokers, franchisors, and commercial realtors in order to help our clients sell more, faster, and for the highest price.

Founded by Pamela Labelle, the first issue of The Business Exchange came out in Toronto, Canada, in November 1998. Frustrated with her search due to the lack of selection and brief descriptions in classified ads, she started looking for a publication that specialized in businesses for sale. In her search she found nothing existed. There was suddenly a great opportunity staring at her in the face, and hence the idea of The Business Exchange was born.

Today, The Business Exchange is a successful omnichannel lead generation platform that connects buyers and sellers of established businesses for sale, franchises for sale and commercial real estate opportunities across Canada and the USA.

Through the years, we have evolved from a local print-focused publication into one of North America’s most active websites to buy and sell businesses. Moreover, our mobile app is constantly growing in connection to business, franchise and real estate opportunities. The Business Exchange has organically grown its database of business buyers to 300,000 subscribers, making it North America’s largest database of qualified business buyers.

Our core values are the backbone of our business and guide our operating principles: We believe our customer’s success is our success, we take ownership and responsibility, we are creative and innovative, we strive to be the best at what we do while acting with integrity and trustworthiness, and we operate with respect and courtesy to facilitate exceptional teamwork while focusing on results.

The Business Exchange is dedicated to being the #1 resource for connecting entrepreneurs and investors with business, franchise and real estate opportunities.
