Position - This unique teaching opportunity invites a visionary educator to co-lead GSACRD's “Building Futures” program. This specialized program is one that empowers Grade 10 students to become active, engaged participants in their learning. Through a strategic partnership with a local home builder, you will facilitate core academic subjects while guiding students as they gain hands-on experience with professional trades workers and complete CTS modules while building a residential home from the ground up. Please note, the residential build site in St. Albert is the classroom where students and staff spend the entire school year. We are seeking a dynamic teacher who can seamlessly bridge the gap between the classroom and the construction site, fostering a culture of accountability and real-world mastery in a truly immersive educational environment.

Duties to commence: August 26, 2026 to June 29, 2027
Qualifications & Duties:
- Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
- Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students, and support the Division's goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
- Possess a Bachelor of Education and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- College Certificate in Catholic Education is considered an asset.
- Experience and/or specialization in a secondary setting.
- Knowledge of Grade 10 math and science curriculum.
- Training and experience in CTS.
- Interest in trades and construction.
- Flexibility in adapting to unique teaching/learning environments.
- Highly skilled with differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Experience using specific proactive strategies such as visual supports, sensory supports, positive behavior support strategies and communication strategies.
- Experience with the implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPP's).
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with trades people and families.
- Experience/Interest in using various technology tools and opportunities to assist learning (e.g. SmartBoards, iPads, hands-on practical job site experiences).
