About the Role Provide maintenance for Lambton Public Health (LPH), Lambton Shared Services Centre (LSSC) and Wyoming Administration. Job Duties and Responsibilities Building Maintenance:

  • Read blue prints
  • Make equipment repairs and install lighting
  • Install plumbing fixtures and make repairs
  • Maintain HVAC unit, calibrate and replace thermostats, filters, belts, etc.
  • Co-ordinate regular maintenance programs with contractors
  • Maintain routine and regular lights, exhaust hoods and appliances
  • Construct shelves, furniture, repair drywall, etc. Facilities Co-ordinated:
  • Assist Supervisor in preparing 5 year capital/yearly budget pertaining to facility
  • Communicate and organize with co-ordinator of facilities/services on projects/tenders/quotes
  • Arrange for and prepare packages for quotes from contractors
  • Communicate and organize work being done by contractors
  • Indirectly supervise work by contractors and communicate with their employer
  • Assist in creation and maintain facilities manual
  • Monthly/quarterly review Building and Maintenance budget with Supervisor
  • Report and consult on complex building issues with Supervisor, Co-ordinator of Facility Services, Manager, Health Promotion Inspections:
  • Make regular building inspections of lights, grounds, equipment, etc.
  • Make monthly inspections of emergency equipment/supplies
  • Make daily hazard inspections of properties, grounds and equipment
  • Co-ordinate yearly inspections required by contractors Purchasing:
  • Purchase large equipment, daily supplies, parts and fixtures
  • Maintain inventory
  • Pick-up and delver throughout County
  • Source and purchase parts to equipment specs Grounds Maintenance:
  • Co-ordinate, monitor and manage snow and ice removal
  • Garbage removal
  • Parking lot maintenance Other Duties:
  • Respond to problems, emergencies 24hr/7 days/week
  • Building security contact backup. (On Call Manager is first call)
  • Co-ordinate & contact for outside agencies, inspectors
  • Maintain building related documents/files
  • Interpret related codes, legislation & Acts
  • Set up and maintain and co-ordinate offsite storage, satellites, etc. General:
  • Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • 3 year College Diploma Project & Facility Management, Building Construction/ Maintenance or equivalent Experience
  • 2 years of work related experience required
  • WHMIS training A valid Ontario driver’s license and use of a vehicle.
