About Us ENTRUST Canada is a premier engineering consulting firm serving the electric power delivery industry, with expertise in Transmission, Substation, and Distribution systems from 4160V to 500kV.
Role Overview As an Engineering Intern, you will assist our design teams in developing and reviewing engineering designs, performing engineering calculations, and conducting field inspections.
Responsibilities
- Develop new designs by applying knowledge of utility electrical systems and their operation
- Review designs against applicable industry codes and standards as well as internal standards
- Apply engineering calculations to various project challenges to develop complete and competent designs
- Prepare estimates, material take offs, scopes of work, survey packages and design packages
- Assist in the preparation of engineering reports
- Prepare design packages for construction
- Perform quality review of project deliverables
- Conduct site visits for field reconnaissance during the project design phase and field inspections during the project construction phase
Qualifications
- Eligible for internship through a university program
- Ability to work in design teams and take the initiative to learn the position
- Self-motivated to perform assigned tasks
- Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Strong computer design skills and ability to learn new software packages efficiently
