The Opportunity
The Intermediate HR Consultant is an important member of the Highbridge Advisory Services team, supporting a variety of HR and people-focused initiatives for clients across multiple sectors. This position is ideal for an HR professional with a strong generalist background who is ready to expand their consulting experience while contributing to both HR advisory and talent-related projects.
You will work alongside senior consultants and client teams to deliver practical and customized HR solutions that address areas such as employee relations, policy development, organizational design, and recruitment support. The role offers exposure to diverse industries, hands-on project work, and opportunities to strengthen your consulting and leadership skills within a collaborative and supportive team environment.
As an HR Consultant you will:
- Work from your home office and spend 1–2 days per week on-site with clients in Kamloops and surrounding communities.
- Provide hands-on support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, promotion and termination letters, and other employment documentation.
- Support and contribute to HR projects such as policy and handbook development, job evaluations, compensation reviews, and performance management programs.
- Assist with HR audits and organizational reviews by collecting and analyzing information, identifying process gaps, and preparing recommendations or summary reports.
- Maintain accurate HR records, forms, and templates, ensuring consistency, version control, and confidentiality across all client documentation.
- Assist with employee relations activities, including drafting letters, coordinating meetings, and documenting discussions related to performance, conduct, or workplace issues.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for recruitment activities in partnership with the Talent Management team, including job profile development, reference coordination, and the preparation of documents such as case studies, candidate presentations, and employment agreements.
- Assist in the development and formatting of presentations and supporting materials for client meetings, policy launches, and organizational updates.
- Support training coordination, including logistics, materials preparation, attendance tracking, and post-session documentation for employee and leadership sessions.
- Track and manage project deliverables, timelines, and status updates to ensure all client files and reports are organized, current, and audit-ready.
- Compile, format, and proof HR documentation and correspondence for client delivery, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
- Support system improvements by testing and refining templates, workflows, and tracking tools that enhance operational efficiency across Highbridge projects.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of progressive HR experience, including hands-on work across the employee lifecycle, HR documentation, and process coordination.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CPHR designation or candidacy is an asset.
- Proven ability to support client teams with professional, accurate, and timely HR documentation, reporting, and communication.
- Suitable home office setup with reliable internet, a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel to client sites in Kamloops and surrounding communities (within a 2–3 hour radius).
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices, including Employment Standards, Human Rights, Occupational Health and Safety, and related laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to assist in the preparation of presentations, reports, and visual materials that effectively communicate HR programs, policies, and recommendations.
- Experience supporting the coordination and logistics of training programs, including scheduling, materials preparation, participant tracking, and documentation.
- Skilled in organizing and managing multiple priorities while maintaining structure, consistency, and confidentiality across projects.
- Highly self-motivated and accountable, with sound judgment and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong administrative and technical skills, with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital collaboration tools.
- Experience supporting recruitment processes including job postings, reference coordination, and preparation of employment-related documents.
- Collaborative team player comfortable working in a remote, multi-consultant environment.
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations and communities is considered a strong asset.
