Child and Family Programs is seeking a highly motivated and task-oriented individual to fill a position as a Crisis Prevention Consultant.
As part of an inter-divisional Multi-Disciplinary Outreach Team, you will be responsible for: behavioural assessments; development, implementation and evaluation of behavioural programming; as well as providing consultation, education and training to government, community-based organizations, service providers and families.
You will have the ability to provide proactive solutions to address complex and challenging behaviours to enhance the lives of children in care. You will be required to reconcile divergent views and interests, and work towards mutually acceptable solutions with a strong ethical and child/youth-centred approach. This position may be exposed to the risk of violent situations.
Typically, the knowledge and skills for this position will have been gained and demonstrated through a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Social Work or a related degree in the Human Services Field. Several years of post-academic experience in the development and/or delivery of therapeutic, educational, behavioural, or clinical services, as well as experience working in a therapeutic capacity with children and youth, would be considered an asset. A valid driver’s license is required as travel will be necessary.
