Position Summary

As a Greenskeeper you will be working outdoors, from 5:30AM in the summer . Duties will vary on a daily basis, depending on season and weather, and will include mowing, bunker raking, watering, line trimming and leaf blowing. You will also assist on projects that arise, for example irrigation and drainage work, bunker renovations etc. These projects are excellent opportunities to learn more about course maintenance in general and as a possible career. This is a seasonal golf course position, however full-time year round employment is available at Deerhurst. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Safe operation of utility vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Working well with the team to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Daily set up of the golf courses - changing holes, raking bunkers,line trimming, tree clean up, mowing grass and various other golf course duties.
• Assisting with projects such as drainage, irrigation and fertilizing.
• Keeping tidy work areas around shop and golf courses.

Key Requirements

• Reliable transportation - able to get to Deerhurst at 5:30AM
• Valid Ontario driver’s license with clean driving record
• Willing to work flexible hours, including some weekend mornings and holidays
• Prepared to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
• A positive solution-focused attitude is key
• Capable to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
