The Role:
The Field Access & Patient Solutions Lead reporting to the Senior Director, Value, Access & Pricing. The FA & PS Lead will be directly accountable for the pan-Canadian strategy and field execution within Gilead’s portfolio. The role also includes working with other regions to carry out tactics for different therapeutic areas on behalf of the field lead. The field access lead will work collaboratively and cross functionally on strategies designed to optimize patient outcomes.
You will improve the lives of Canadians by building relationships and work closely with department and cross functional colleagues in a fast-paced environment to achieve and maintain access to Gilead products. Through this role you will grow and be challenged in our diverse culture that will broaden your skills and expand your outreach in several therapeutic areas. Through the appropriate engagement of external stakeholders in the Canadian reimbursement environment, you will make a real difference in the lives of patients.
How you will ‘Create Possible’:
- Through a brand-first strategy, the Field Access & Patient Solutions lead will co-create and oversee the pan-Canadian execution to their aligned business unit and will work with colleagues in Field Access roles in other provinces to ensure execution to plan. Targeted programs and data generation specific to a given therapeutic area in each of the provinces / territories will be directed by the aligned TA lead.
- Directs tactical plan execution within the province, for the assigned Gilead Therapeutic area and executes as per peer direction and plan for the other therapeutic areas, specifically creating a positive environment within the province for patient access
- Lead all Gilead Field Access, Policy / Government Relations and patient solutions aimed at breaking down barriers in access to medicines at the provincial level
- Create and maintain up to date stakeholder maps (traditional and non-traditional, e.g., provincial Minister of Health, Public Health, etc.) across Gilead’s portfolio
- Support the Market Access Strategy team in ensuring that the provincial environment is poised to adopt Gilead technologies following a positive HTA recommendation and successful pricing negotiation
- Takes a lead role in representing company at professional events and promotes company products at such events, aligned with the brand strategy for enhancing provincial access – accountable for building and maintaining a positive reputation for Gilead
- Together with Market Access Strategy counterpart and Public and Government Affairs colleagues, provides pan-Canadian provincial input into the brand marketing strategy
- Works collaboratively with Government Affairs to eliminate health policy barriers and create proactive strategies that promote all Gilead therapeutic areas, where there are barriers to access
- Strategically and selectively participates in industry organizations, panels/ meetings, as appropriate for the execution of the brand strategy
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- 8+ years within the biopharma/pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated experience and understanding of provincial and federal drug and health policy as well as developing external relationships leading to brand advocacy
- Advanced degree in science, economics, public health, business, or related field of study would be an asset
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation) and demonstrated clear decision making; Bilingual (English and French) written and verbal skills an asset
- Demonstrated strong portfolio management experience with proven strategic thinking with the ability to formulate, develop and execute therapeutic strategies across the country
- Experience and knowledge in Canadian access and reimbursement of products across our portfolio would be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement field access strategies, including cross functional stakeholder mapping and engagement planning
- Demonstrated experience in health economic/pharmacoeconomic modelling and health technology assessment process would be an asset
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and peers to deliver exceptional results
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- Comfortable and adaptive to working in a changing environment and ambiguity
- Possesses sophisticated negotiation, influencing, project management and strategic management skills
- Fluency in French and English is a must

The Role:
