Invest in you, Join Agropur. We dairy you! Agropur is looking for a Shunter that requires an AZ license. As a Shunter you will have to organize the trailers in the shipping yard to ensure all shipping and loading is expedited in a safe and efficient manner. Works to ensure and contribute to the efficient operation of the production and shipping of product at Don Mills.
Starting at $29.21 per hour plus shift premiums ($0.80) with a gradual increase up to 6000 hours worked. Work schedule – Starting Sunday night at 9 pm (Monday – Friday) What’s Involved In This Role
- Moves trailers throughout the shipping yard in a safe and efficient manner.
- Operates Shunt tractor in a safe and efficient manner in accordance all Company safety procedures and regulations.
- Park all trailers in accordance with Company guidelines and procedures.
- Adheres to all posted speed limit signs throughout the yard.
- Adheres to all designated schedules and timetables for all loading doors as per the Load-out Coordinator’s instructions.
- Communicates to supervisors on any spills, quality issues, accidents and damages to any piece of equipment or the yard immediately.
- Completes all re-fuelling of reefer fuel tanks.
- Starts reefers prior to loading and checks temperature settings. Adjusts as required.
- Responsible for the safe chocking of each trailer after the trailer has been placed in position for loading.
- Daily completes an audit of the trailers in the yard and their contents.
- Maintains the organization and placement of trailers in the shipping yard.
- Ensures that the empty case dock doors and the shipping loading dock doors, are supplied with trailers to ensure an efficient operation.
- Communicate with external drivers to direct in-bound/out-bound loads to the appropriate areas.
- Performs any other duties as reasonably assigned by supervisor.
What You Need To Join Our Team
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education and experience.
- Must have completed and obtained appropriate licensing for this position, specifically an A-Z license. Company may consider assisting candidates to licensed.
- Must have a clean driving record
- Previous experience in similar operation would also be considered an asset.
- Candidate must have a sound work ethic.
- Must have excellent written, oral and communication skills.
- Computer skills are also an asset.
- Candidates must work in a professional and timely manner.
- Applicant must comply with all personal protective equipment, GMP’s and all Health & Safety Procedures.
