Union - CUPE Local 402 - Temporary Full-Time
Scope
Park Development Services is seeking a temporary, full-time Labourer to support a wide range of park development activities. This position works 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from May to November.
Responsibilities
Provide labour and equipment operation support for park development activities, including but not limited to:
- Site preparation and grading
- Drainage systems
- Carpentry and irrigation systems
- Horticultural planting and landscape installation
- Parkland development monitoring and contractor inspections
- Interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner
- Follow and demonstrate safe work practices at all times
- Work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers
- Perform heavy physical work in all weather conditions, requiring strength, stamina, and coordination
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12
- Relevant experience and training performing manual labour
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with a safe driving record
- Hands-on experience using related tools and equipment is preferred
- Related education and construction experience are considered assets

Pay Grade: Schedule D
Hourly Rate: $29.89 (2024 rate)
Conditions of Employment
This position requires completion of a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
