Mechanical Engineer / Energy Modeller (Intermediate) Position Overview We are seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer / Energy Modeller to join our Energy Team. This role focuses on energy modelling for new construction projects and conducting energy audits for existing buildings. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a team of mechanical engineers under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with EGBC (P.Eng designation considered an asset)
• Minimum 2 years of experience using IES-VE or similar hourly energy simulation software
• Field experience with building mechanical systems, including energy audits, field reviews, and HVAC commissioning
• Solid understanding of local building codes, energy modelling standards, construction practices, and technical drawings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Key Responsibilities

• Perform energy modelling for residential, commercial, and institutional projects
• Conduct energy audits and support commissioning of building systems during design, construction, and renovation phases
• Prepare thermal bridging calculations and building thermal performance analysis
• Maintain ongoing communication with developers, architects, designers, and contractors throughout project execution
