YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Exploration Manager, Nunavut, you will be part of the Exploration Team. You will have a vital leadership role in advancing the Hope Bay Project by overseeing all exploration initiatives, guiding teams, and coordinating key geological activities including drill hole planning, core logging, sampling, geological interpretation, 3D modelling, and exploration target generation. In this role you will also need to enforce QA/QC protocols, compiling detailed reports, and acting as a primary technical resource to drive operational excellence in one of Canada’s most remote and geologically significant regions. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Work closely with management to plan and implement exploration programs, and annual budgets required to execute successful exploration programs.
  • Oversee exploration activities, including drilling, mapping, sampling, modeling and geophysical surveys.
  • Manage multiple exploration programs simultaneously, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, budget, and timelines.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of geologists, technicians, and contractors, fostering safety, efficiency, and high performance.
  • Analyze geological data to identify new targets, refine existing models, and contribute to resource development.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, new releases, annual exploration reviews and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Introduce new methodologies and technology to improve exploration success rates and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in employee evaluations and facilitate training and mentoring.
  • Ensure all Agnico Eagle’s Health & Safety, Environmental and Cultural policies are respected by all employees and contractors at all work sites.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with peers to ensure consistent messaging, uphold standards, and maintain unified operations in remote exploration environments.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
  • 8 years’ of experience in mineral exploration with significant exposure to gold systems.
  • Background and knowledge of gold-related metallogeny, structural geology, geochemistry, and geophysics are considered an asset.
  • Must be a member of a Professional Association in a Canadian province or territory.
  • Knowledge of Leapfrog Geo, Datamine, DHLogger/Fusion and ArcGIS.
  • Database management: SQL and/or python are considered an asset.

Note that the official working language at the Hope Bay Project is English.

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Location: Hope Bay Project
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
