The Quality Assurance Inspector in Second Shift plays a pivotal role on the Quality team by inspecting materials, parts, and products, including electronics, motors, castings, machined parts, and assemblies, for conformance to pre-defined specifications. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional departments to facilitate the development of our products and verification of corrective actions.
This role is critical in ensuring quality manufacturing, reporting product defects, and contributing ideas to improve efficiency.
This position is based out of Scarborough, Ontario and the working hours are from 15:30 to 11:30 on regular workdays.
Key Accountabilities:

Conducting incoming quality control of parts and products ensuring their compliance to applicable Engineering drawings, standard and Armstrong specifications.

Conducting pre-shipment quality control of Armstrong products to ensure the products satisfy the requirements of production orders and ultimately meet and/or exceed customer satisfactions and requirements.

Inspect experimental parts and prototypes against their applicable engineering drawings and specifications that involve, but not limited to, the use of standard inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges.

Releasing Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) on found non-conformances in QA spreadsheet and LN10.7 with detailed root causes and effects of given dispositions.

Maintaining electronic records of all inspection results.

Performing ad-hoc inspections relevant to customer service warranty issues.

Attending and participating in daily QA meetings related to non-conformance reports (NCR), their dispositions and Corrective Actions (CAR) reviews.

Handling and segregating parts and products as required.

All other duties may be assigned, based on personal skills, abilities and needs.
What We’re Looking For:
To be considered for this role, you should bring:
- High School Diploma but preferably Engineering Technician Diploma.
- Quality Control experience, education, or diploma is considered as a strong asset.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong problem solving and root-cause analysis skills.
- Working experience and basic comprehension of Quality Systems ISO 9001.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with both dimensional and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong sense of urgency in a time-sensitive working environment.
- Great team-oriented attitude, while capable of working independently
- Strong verbal and written communication in English
- Understanding and adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations
