What is the opportunity?
Performs analyses and support on all aspects of investment products. Applies complete knowledge, skills, and practices to a Senior Analyst in the Private Capital Services team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing the accounting of all transactions and assisting with the daily, monthly and annual administration of private equities, private debt, real estate and infrastructure investments; as well as highly complex portfolios that deal in hedge and mutual funds. You will also be responsible for assisting your peers within the operational umbrella on an ongoing basis. This role requires frequent collaboration with other internal operations and investment teams and external service providers (e.g., fund managers, investment managers, clients, and auditors). perform assignments.
What will you do?
- Ensure processing and client requirements are carried out in the most efficient manner
- Calculate prices for private investments and update fund valuations
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of Reporting, and to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of accounting for performance and exposure analysis.
- Monitor and analyze the status of team against established standards and take appropriate action as required
- Daily review of Suspense Accounts to address and clear all outstanding items (where applicable)
- Deliver quality service to all parties by promptly responding to requests or inquiries relating to client activity/instructions
- Participate when required to prepare Client Service for client meetings
- Manage the integration of new business, client restructures, lost business ensuring all administration requirements are met.
- Ensure continuity of operations and service during vacation and absenteeism.
- Ensure all monitoring and notification requirements are in place (Compliance reports, foreign content, contribution monitoring, etc.)
- Communicate issues which may affect statements to entire team i.e. price changes, valuations, revised activity, processing errors etc.
- Ongoing review of existing procedures to ensure that risk issues are effectively anticipated and mitigated.
- Reduce corporate liability by ensuring compliance with all RBC Investor & Treasury Services policy guidelines and department policy and procedures
- Minimize E & O due to non-compliance with established procedures or failure to identify/escalate a situation that could potentially cause a processing failure
- Performs ad hoc request when directed by the manager
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Post secondary education, preferably in Business or Finance
- Securities industry experience and knowledge of international markets
- Strong interpersonal skills and networking abilities with other departments
- Knowledge of funds & alternative investments
- Solid understanding of financial accounting
- Strategic approach to business and solid negotiation skills
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Strong working knowledge of PC applications such as excel
- Strong organization skills
Nice to have
- Experience with reporting platforms such as GPLUS, MILVUS, TRUST
- Experience with vendor platforms Burgiss and Yardi
- Enrolment in CAIA/CGA/CMA/CFA or other recognized accredited program is desirable
- Private Capital knowledge and over time advanced knowledge
- Leadership skills
