Position Overview
As a Laundry Attendant at Cabot Cape Breton, your primary responsibility will be to efficiently process linens, towels, and other items through washing, drying, and folding procedures. Attention to detail is paramount, ensuring that all items meet Cabot's high standards before being returned to guest rooms. You will operate laundry equipment, handle chemicals responsibly, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Your contribution is essential to providing guests with fresh, high-quality linens, enhancing their overall comfort and satisfaction during their stay at Cabot Cape Breton.
You Will Thrive In This Role If You Enjoy
- Attention to Detail: Take satisfaction in inspecting, sorting, and folding linens with precision, ensuring that each item meets high-quality standards and is presented neatly to guests.
- Organization: Enjoy maintaining a well-organized laundry area, keeping track of inventory, and ensuring that clean linens are readily available for housekeeping and guest use.
- Physical Work: Find fulfilment in handling laundry loads, operating washing machines and dryers, and performing tasks that require physical stamina. Enjoy the hands-on nature of the job.
- Time Management: Appreciate managing your workload efficiently, ensuring that laundry tasks are completed within specified timelines and that clean linens are available as needed for guest accommodations.
- Team Collaboration: Thrive in a team-oriented environment, working closely with housekeeping staff and other team members. Enjoy effective communication and cooperation to maintain a seamless flow of clean linens for the hotel's operations.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHIMIS)
- Previous hotel industry experience is an asset
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Requirements Of The Role You Should Be Aware Of
- Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years.
- As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
- Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and/or lifting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and tolerate heat.
- Exerting up to 250 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to ascend or descend, stairs and ramps on an occasional basis.
- Ability to work with and around chemicals, and registered products and safely follow product labels.
- This position requires constant focus with a repetitive nature of work.
- Additional duties may assigned from time to time.
