Role: Copywriter
Location: Toronto, ON
About the role: OLIVER believes that agencies work better inside a brand’s organization – delivering more effective work at the speed and flexibility required to drive modern businesses forward. Using our unique methodology, and supported by bespoke technology, we design, build, and operate specialist, dedicated agencies onsite with our clients. We believe that proximity enables better collaboration, leading to better marketing solution.
We’re looking for a Copywriter who loves words, ideas, and great advertising. You’ll work alongside art directors, senior writers, and creative leadership to help concept and write smart, engaging work across digital, social, print, and integrated campaigns. This role is ideal for someone who’s curious, culturally aware, and eager to sharpen their craft in a fast-paced agency environment.
What you will be doing:
- Write clear, compelling copy for digital, social, print, video and integrated advertising
- Develop and execute campaigns, content, and brand ideas
- Collaborate closely with art directors and other creatives to bring ideas to life
- Write everything from headlines, taglines, and body copy to social captions and scripts
- Adapt tone and messaging across platforms while staying true to brand voice
- Revise and refine copy based on feedback from senior creatives and clients
- Stay tuned into culture, trends, and great advertising—past and present
What you need to be great in this role:
- 2–5 years of copywriting experience in an advertising agency, creative studio, or related environment (internships, freelance, or student work welcome)
- A portfolio that shows strong writing skills and conceptual thinking
- Ability to write for both digital-first platforms and traditional advertising formats
- Solid understanding of brand voice, messaging, and storytelling.
- AI experience and curiosity - Familiarity with AI-powered tools, generative platforms, or willingness to experiment with emerging technologies to enhance ideation and content creation
- Future-forward mindset - Open to exploring automation, personalization, and AI-assisted workflows to push creative boundaries and deliver innovative solutions
- Strong grammar, attention to detail, and editing skills
- Openness to feedback, collaboration, and learning
- At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from CAD $80,750.00 to CAD $90,250.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
