About the role

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team. This on-site position that is based out of our Winnipeg, MB location and requires local travel to customer sites. To set you up for success, we provide a company truck, phone, laptop and a competitive benefits package that includes pension, medical, dental, tuition reimbursement and paid holidays.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $69000 - $87000 a year. You are also eligible for overtime compensation.

The individual will be responsible for servicing uninterruptible power supplies and batteries and other company electronic-based products in a high voltage environment at the customer’s site.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs emergency and preventive maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility.
  • Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing and repair of company products.
  • Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
  • Serves as customer contact on technical and service-related problems.

Qualifications:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • College degree/diploma from an accredited institution in any of the following disciplines: Electrical, Electronics, Engineering Technology OR Red Seal (309A) Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician Certification/Ticket
  • One (1) year of experience with UPS (uninterruptable power supplies) OR battery technologies OR electronics
  • Candidates must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
  • Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license. Required to travel to US for product and safety training when necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of UPS rectifier or inverter
  • Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and schemes

This technician role involves performing moderately complex service assignments that require strong technical judgment, initiative, and effective problem‑solving to support our customers with confidence. Success in this position relies on excellent customer focus, solid time‑management abilities, and clear verbal and written communication skills. When not in the field delivering hands‑on support to Eaton customers, you’ll have the flexibility to work from home.

Candidates must also be able to complete our comprehensive training program, which includes travel to the United States for product and safety training.
