A little about our Facilities Department
The Facilities Department, part of the Corporate Services Division, is responsible for the physical environment and operations of Mothercraft buildings to ensure they are functional, safe, and efficient. This includes services like maintenance, HVAC, and plumbing, cleaning, security, space planning, and groundskeeping. Its core function is to support the occupants and the primary business or mission of the organization by maintaining a comfortable, productive, and safe environment.

As a Building Maintenance Worker, you will...
- Work closely with the Facility & Maintenance Coordinator and assist in the daily maintenance of Mothercraft’s facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all staff and visitors
- Respond to facility-related requests and address issues including repairs, maintenance and supplies
- Assist in general groundskeeping duties, such as landscaping, planting, installation, and maintenance
- Maintain electronic records and reports
- Maintain cleanliness of garbage, organic, recycling bins, and diaper bins
- Manually move or transport furniture, equipment, and supplies, as needed
This position is partially funded by Employment and Social Development Canada and the incumbent must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Be Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada, according to relevant Provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
You will be set up for success if you have…
- Minimum high school diploma
- 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance or repair preferred
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite is required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
