Why You’ll Love This Role
Are you passionate about photonics and eager to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge optical technology? We are looking for a motivated Optical Engineering Co-op to support the development, testing, and optimization of advanced optical simulation tools and fiber optic systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Enhance and develop optical design and simulation tools to advance our capabilities in optical engineering.
- Perform fiber optic characterization and testing to evaluate key performance metrics and support product reliability.
- Assemble and align optical modules with high-precision, contributing to our ongoing development efforts.
- Support nano-imprint process development, gaining exposure to advanced fabrication techniques for optical components.
This position offers valuable hands-on experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, with opportunities to make meaningful contributions to high-impact projects at the forefront of optical engineering innovation.
What We’re Looking For
- Students pursuing a degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Gaussian beam theory, polarization, and optics fundamentals.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python preferred) and an interest in improving the stability and maintainability of engineering tools.
- Basic laboratory experience, with a strong willingness to learn new techniques and methodologies.
- Familiarity with web-based tools and virtual machine deployment is a plus.
