About the role

About The Job Position Summary The HR Business Partner plays a key role within the plant by supporting managers and employees throughout the HR cycle. This position contributes significantly to recruitment, skills development, and continuous improvement of HR practices, while fostering a positive and engaging work environment.

Key Responsibilities Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Lead the full recruitment process for unionized and non‑unionized positions.
  • Partner with managers to define staffing needs.
  • Optimize talent attraction strategies.
  • Support the onboarding and integration of new hires.

Skills Development

  • Coordinate and monitor the plant’s annual training plan.
  • Support the planning, logistics, and rollout of training activities.
  • Contribute to the Learning pillar within continuous improvement initiatives.

HR Operational Support

  • Apply and update HR policies and processes.
  • Coach managers on performance management, discipline, and team organization.
  • Track and analyze HR metrics (absenteeism, probation, turnover, etc.).
  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.

Labor Relations

  • Provide first‑level support regarding collective agreement interpretation.
  • Advise managers and employees on matters related to labour relations.
  • Manager or support the management of cases related to labour relations (grievances, internal investigations, etc.)

Engagement and Internal Communication

  • Contribute to the annual calendar of plant events.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, and collaboration initiatives.
  • Enhance internal communication across teams.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $92,000 CAD. The final salary offered will be determined by factors such as relevant experience and qualifications, internal equity and external market conditions.

Qualifications About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of broad HR generalist experience, ideally in a unionized environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working directly with a senior leadership team and ability to provide insights aligned to the strategic priorities of the business.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and priority‑management abilities.
  • Functional proficiency in French and English.
