Warehouse Associate - Cylinder Processor (Full Time) - Winnipeg, MB
Primary Purpose
The Cylinder Processor is primarily responsible for seeing the cylinder production process through to completion. This begins with empty cylinders returning from customers to filled cylinders ready for analysis and shipment and involves a significant amount of cylinder handling. Process Operators are assigned to various aspects of the cylinder production process (ie. sorting, filling, maintenance) depending on training and business needs.
Key Accountabilities:
- Sort and inspect cylinders for prefill inspection. Prefill inspection includes visual, physical and odour tests on cylinders before filling and determining whether requalification and/or repairs are necessary
- Fill cylinders with a variety of compressed gases or liquids according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Complete and maintain quality control documentation as per company and regulatory requirements
- Load and ship cylinders on trailers, completing required shipping paperwork. This may require the use of a forklift and proficiency in cylinder handling
- Perform cylinder maintenance including shotblasting, de-valving, valving, and valve repairs
- Paint and label cylinders as required
- Use of gas analyzers for basic sampling and testing
- Meet established standards for safety, productivity, and quality
Required Qualifications
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 1-2 years related experience within a plant or distribution environment
- Forklift operation experience preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Safety conscious
- Dependable and accountable
- Knowledge of compressed gas cylinders
- Able to manipulate a variety of cylinder sizes and weights as required
- Strong teamwork, problem solving and organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
Physical/Sensory Demands
- Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs
