Lead Dispatcher – Coquitlam, BC GFL Environmental is looking for a Lead Dispatcher to join our team in Coquitlam, BC !
As a Lead Dispatcher, you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient daily operations by coordinating driver schedules, addressing on-route issues, and supporting the dispatch team. You’ll act as the main point of contact between drivers, operations, and customer service - making sure routes run smoothly, service issues are resolved promptly, and the team stays on track.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily dispatch operations and route assignments
- Support, guide, and coach dispatch staff to meet service goals
- Respond to customer and service issues in real time
- Work with routing specialists to improve route efficiency
- Monitor driver check-ins and ensure accurate documentation
- Lead daily safety tailgate meetings
- Coordinate with operations, customer service, and maintenance
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and data entry
- Assist in planning daily driver coverage based on service needs
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation (lead or supervisory experience is an asset)
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- TRUX experience is an asset, or willingness to learn
- Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as needed
- Knowledge of routing and scheduling best practices
