We are currently seeking a WMS Specialist to serve as a key liaison between the Distribution Centres (DC) operations team for all brands (Northern Reflections, Ricki’s, Cleo, ToysRUs, BabiesRUs and Famous Toys and the IT department. This role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving backend system issues related to the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including challenges involving shipping systems (e.g., UPS), purchase order discrepancies, and data flow errors. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with WMS platforms, a strong technical mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively with both floor teams and technical teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for DC teams experiencing issues with WMS or system-integrated functions (e.g., UPS, purchase orders).
  • Investigate and resolve backend system issues by identifying root causes through data analysis.
  • Liaise between the DC operations and IT teams to escalate, communicate, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Monitor WMS performance and proactively identify recurring problems or inefficiencies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve WMS-related problems in coordination with IT and vendors.
  • Collaborate with operations teams on the floor to gather real-time feedback and pinpoint trouble spots.
  • Assist in the development of WMS documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and user guides for system-related workflows.
  • Support system implementation and testing activities and rollout of system upgrades, patches, and new functionalities.
  • Track and report system issues, downtime, and resolution timelines to the VP, DC Operations.
  • Maintain system documentation, issue logs, and solutions for reference and training.
  • Report creation for all areas of the operations (KPIs, Inbound and Outbound etc.)
  • Provide training and ongoing support to operations teams on WMS functionality and best practices.
  • Ensure data integrity and system accuracy within the WMS.
  • Ensure internal and external customers’ requirements are met in an efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Maintain your work area in a safe and organized manner, ensuring housekeeping standards are adhered to.
  • Comply with Toys”R”Us Health and Safety policies, procedures and standards and with the OHSA.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with a Warehouse Management System (e.g., Sage / X3 or similar)
  • Strong understanding of backend systems, interfaces, and data flow processes in a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills; able to dig into backend data and identify root causes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues in simple terms to non-technical staff.
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally with IT and operational teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced DC environment and spending time on the DC floor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and system reporting tools.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency and self-direction within established guidelines
  • Ability to support multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment
  • Must have high initiative, integrity and dependability to function effectively as a team player.
