About The Role The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the branch’s sales and customer service functions, driving revenue growth across new and existing accounts, and executing the company’s Strategic Plan within the sales organization. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, strengthening customer relationships, developing the sales team, and ensuring consistent execution of sales processes and service excellence standards.
The Sales Manager works closely with direct reports to coach and develop high standards of sales performance, product knowledge, and customer engagement. The individual in this role is actively involved in bid/RFP strategy, overseeing key account renewals and negotiations, implementing strategic price increases, and maintaining senior-level relationships with key and strategic customers.
Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Growth
- Drive sustainable, profitable revenue growth within the branch across core businesses and targeted growth segments
- Achieve and exceed sales targets for both new and existing accounts
- Develop and execute market, sales, and customer growth strategies
- Identify new business opportunities, verticals, and geographic expansion opportunities
- Lead and support bid/RFP strategy and execution
- Oversee key account renewals, contract negotiations, and pricing strategies
- Develop and promote initiatives to grow Charlotte Branded product sales
Team Leadership & Development
- Effectively develop, lead, and motivate the Sales and Customer Service team
- Coach, mentor, and train team members to strengthen sales skills and product knowledge
- Set clear goals, objectives, and performance expectations
- Conduct regular performance reviews and ongoing coaching sessions
- Administer an effective Performance Management Review process within the sales team
- Conduct regular Talent Reviews and support succession planning for the sales function
- Foster high levels of employee engagement, accountability, and professional development
Customer & Service Excellence
- Maintain top-level relationships with strategic and high-value customers
- Promote and uphold quality and customer service standards
- Monitor customer satisfaction and retention metrics
- Resolve escalated customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure all Sales and Customer Service processes are fully and effectively implemented
- Conduct regular reviews of sales systems and processes to optimize effectiveness
Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure full and proper administration of all sales reporting and measurement systems
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management
- Collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure alignment on customer requirements and pricing
Experience What You Bring:
- Proven sales and business development credentials
- 5–10 years of progressive sales experience, including sales team leadership
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding revenue targets
- Strong experience in negotiation, key account management, and RFP processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
- Strong leadership ability to motivate, train, and manage for results
- Ability to develop and execute sales and customer growth strategies
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Proven organizational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage multiple and changing priorities
Education
- University/College graduate in Business, Sales/Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel required

- Salary Range: $85,000 to $100,000
- Variable compensation: Annual performance bonus + commission eligibility
