Financial Analyst Location: Toronto or Vaughan, OntarioBusiness Unit: ShawflexPosition Type: Full-Time, PermanentWork Model: Hybrid (1 day per week - every Tuesday) Summary Join Shawflex as a Financial Analyst and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis. This position supports critical business operations through month-end accounting, reconciliations, statutory reporting, financial analysis, audit support, and process improvement initiatives. Your contributions will help maintain strong financial controls, support informed business decisions, and drive operational excellence across the organization.
Responsibilities
Prepare and post month-end journal entries and support month-end close activities. Perform balance sheet analysis and account reconciliations. Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and updates within the ERP system. Prepare and submit GST, HST, QST, and WSIB remittances. Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts, including prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and receivables. Review and analyze foreign exchange impacts on cash and intercompany accounts. Complete intercompany reconciliations and resolve account discrepancies. Enter and bill invoices while supporting accurate transactional accounting. Upload monthly financial results into reporting platforms. Prepare tax and insurance packages and support internal and external audit activities. Investigate departmental financial results and provide financial insights and analysis. Support ad hoc accounting, reporting, and analytical requests. Develop, update, and maintain accounting procedures and process documentation. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, corporate accounting teams, auditors, customers, and suppliers to support financial operations and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, or month-end close activities. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices. Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger processes. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Experience applying accounting principles in accordance with GAAP/IFRS standards. Ability to investigate financial variances, analyze data, and resolve accounting-related issues.
Preferred
CPA, CMA, or CGA designation, or active pursuit of a professional accounting designation. 3-5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience. Experience within manufacturing or multi-site organizations. Exposure to intercompany accounting, statutory reporting, audit support, and ERP systems. Working knowledge of IFS, OneStream, SharePoint reporting tools, and other financial systems.

What Success Looks Like
Within your first few months, you will:
Become a trusted contributor to the month-end close process. Successfully complete reconciliations and statutory remittances with a high degree of accuracy. Learn and navigate the organization's financial systems and reporting processes. Support audit and financial information requests efficiently. Build strong relationships with finance and cross-functional stakeholders while maintaining accurate and reliable financial records.
The Salary Range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000. The provided range represents the anticipated base salary and target incentive for this position. The final total compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. This job is vacant to fill a replacement.
