Overview:
Job Purpose The Manager, Business Integration will play a key role in supporting the development and origination of new business lines while also assisting with the related integration of operational processes, data flows, and systems across the physical energy value chain at ICE NGX—including coordination on the launch of new trading hubs, assist in assessing new business opportunities, improvements to NGX reports and tools used for trading, scheduling, clearing, settlement and physical delivery. Workload could include net-new functionality or enhancements to any part of the existing ICE NGX suite of products. This position will work cross-functionally with commercial marketing and sales, market operations and scheduling personnel, IT, legal and compliance teams and many other internal ICE teams to ensure seamless, efficient, and reliable operations, with a focus on efficient product development, process optimization, data integrity, and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
Assist the Manager, Operations Integration, Senior management and other operational teams with the following:
- Analyze and map end-to-end operational workflows for natural gas trading, scheduling, nominations, physical delivery (pipeline, storage, LNG, etc.), index calculation, clearing and invoice settlement.
- Help prepare and present commercial proposals, bids, and presentations tailored to client and management needs.
- Assist Senior management to develop and execute market entry and growth strategies in targeted regions or segments.
- Assist the Operations Integration Manager and collaborate with IT and business teams to design, test, and implement new system interfaces and functionality. Help team members translate business requirements into actionable items with other ICE IT leadership.
- Support integration projects (e.g., system upgrades, new hub onboarding, M&A, regulatory changes) to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
- Assist to develop and maintain operational dashboards and reporting tools around the Operations Integration projects.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to design, test, and implement new system interfaces and functionality. Help translate business requirements into actionable items with other ICE IT leadership.
- Document and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for business development committee (“BDC”). Ensure all teams are completing these procedures during project implementation.
- Collaborate with Legal and Compliance and other teams to ensure compliance with ASC, CFTC, FERC, NAESB, and other regulatory requirements for gas operations and data management.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years’ experience in natural gas, LNG, or energy business development, origination, or commercial roles.
- Strong understanding of North American gas and electricity market fundamentals, pricing, and infrastructure.
- Proven track record in originating, structuring, and helping to close gas sales or infrastructure deals.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Sales and Marketing experience in an energy-related field.
- Familiarity with ASC, CFTC, NAESB, FERC, and pipeline tariff rules a plus.
- Experience with system integration projects (e.g., ETRM upgrades, pipeline EBB onboarding).
- Coding/scripting (Python, VBA) for process automation.
- Knowledge of gas scheduling, risk and clearing, pricing and indices and settlement processes.
