Your impact

We are looking for a Project Controls Manager to join our team and lead a group of dedicated project controls professionals that support the Canada portfolio of projects. As a people manager, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to your team members, overseeing the recruitment and onboarding process, and ensuring team members are motivated and engaged. You will also collaborate with other managers and leaders to align your team’s goals with the America’s Project Delivery Services vision and strategy. Your team will develop, monitor, track, analyze, forecast, and report on project budgets, estimates to complete, commitments, expenditures, project progress and productivity, projects cost at completion, WBS cost coding, subcontracts, and change management. The incumbent can be based at any Jacobs office location.

Key Roles And Responsibilities Include

  • Monitor and manage team performance, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Manage the team’s utilization and billability goals for the fiscal year
  • Identify and address team issues, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive and collaborative work culture
  • Recruit, train, and mentor new and existing team members, and provide them with career advice and opportunities
  • Communicate and implement organizational policies, procedures, and standards
  • Coordinate and delegate tasks and projects to team members, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Collaborate with other managers and leaders to align team objectives with organizational goals and strategies
  • Report on team progress, achievements, and challenges to senior management
  • Provide technical guidance to other project controls staff in project financial status
  • Assist Operations Leadership with their financial plans as needed
  • For a small set of projects, helps set-up, monitor & report earned value progress measurement systems for projects, including analysis based on input from project leads.
  • Facilitate accurate labor cost tracking, reporting, and contract compliance across diverse project types.

Here's what you'll need

Ideally, you’ll also have BS or BA in Cost Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, Accounting or Finance

10+ years’ experience in project controls or related industry expertise.

Proficient computer skills using MS Office tools. Proficient Excel skills are a must

Good verbal and written communications skills and a desire to work with details.

Strong supervisor skills and enjoys helping mentor and train staff

Reside within the Canada Region, to accommodate common work shift hours
