About the role

Must be courteous to patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and other employees of the organization. Under the general supervision of the Dietary Manager, and or designee and within hospital and departmental policies and procedures is responsible for the following duties: Prepare and assemble cold food items in accordance with census and hospital specifications Set up patient trays according to menus and diet instructions; assist with delivery of trays when needed and return trays to dietary after meals. Supply floor pantries with needed listed food items. Clean pantries and clean and defrost refrigerators as assigned. Make and deliver requested between-meal nourishments. Assist in dish room with de-traying, dishwashing, and storage of clean dish items. Take fruit and vegetable inventory twice weekly, as assigned. Make coffee for Hospital meetings. Sets up hospital functions under supervision of the Food Service Manager or designee. Sweep and mop Kitchen, walk in, and storeroom floors daily. Other general cleaning as assigned. Wash pots, pans and utensils, and help with vegetable prep. Completes production for all dietary needs. Must wear facility provided identification badge. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers in a manner that reflects Falmouth Hospital’s commitment to CARES: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and service.
