Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Library and archives assisting. Museology/museum studies. Kinesiology and exercise science. Social sciences, general. History, general. Work setting: Museum. Tasks: Operate audio-visual equipment. Prepare reports. Assist in the research, handling and storage of artifacts. Assist with the planning and development of travelling exhibitions and special events. Classify and assign registration numbers to artifacts and supervise inventory control. Conduct guided tours of museums, gallery exhibitions and historical, heritage and other sites, answer inquiries and provide information. Construct displays and dioramas, build models, install artifacts in displays and prepare artifacts for storage and shipping. Computer and technology knowledge: Adobe Photoshop. MS Office. Website creation and management software. Social Media. Technical experience: Cataloging. Curatorial assisting. Exhibit preparation. Exhibit preparation experience: Display cases. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail.
