Position Summary:
2D is an in-patient Mental Health unit that supports the recovery of the acutely ill patient. The Mental Health Team is committed to delivering the highest quality of care in a safe, therapeutic environment.
Job Description:
- Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team to ensure high quality care;
- Responsible and accountable for the provision of nursing care to an adult and seniors mental health population in accordance with the standards of nursing practice and evidenced based practice;
- Must be willing to work all shifts.
Qualifications:
- A current annual certificate of competency with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO combined with sound patient care nursing skills required;
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an adult mental health hospital setting required;
- Medication Certificate and experience with administration of medication within the last year required;
- Patient physical assessment course required;
- Must have effective interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem solving skills;
- Reliable and flexible individual who is willing to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment;
- Positive attendance and work record essential;
- Must be available to work alternate weekends.
