Required Skills & Experience
- 1-6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong full-stack software development experience.
- Experience building, launching, and delivering production-level products and features.
- Experience with AI-first development practices and AI-assisted software engineering workflows.
- Hands-on experience building with AI technologies, LLMs, agents, automation frameworks, or similar tools.
- Experience developing applications in cloud environments (GCP and/or AWS preferred).
- Ability to operate independently and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience working at a leading Canadian technology company or high-growth (Ie. Shopify, Cohere)
- Experience building SaaS platforms and scalable customer-facing applications.
- Experience developing AI-native products or platforms.
- Experience in an early-stage startup environment.
- Previous experience helping scale products, teams, or engineering processes during periods of rapid growth.

Insight Global is hiring a Founding Builder / AI Engineer for an AI-first technology company in Toronto. This is an opportunity to join an early-stage team working directly alongside the founders to build and scale AI-powered products that are transforming how organizations engage with government procurement.
The ideal candidate is a strong builder who loves shipping products, leveraging AI daily, and taking ownership from idea through execution. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications, build AI-powered features and agent-based workflows, contribute to product architecture decisions, and help shape the future direction of the platform. This environment is highly collaborative and fast-paced, requiring someone who thrives with autonomy, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and is excited about building something meaningful from the ground up. The team is looking for individuals who are ambitious, curious, and passionate about using AI to solve complex real-world problems.
