About the role

Position Summary

The Bethany Care Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bethany Care Society, supporting its mission of Creating Caring Communities for seniors and adults with complex care needs across Alberta. For over 20 years, the Foundation has raised funds to enhance programs, upgrade facilities, and invest in major capital projects—ensuring those in our care experience dignity, connection, and an enhanced quality of life.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Senior Fund Development Officer who shares our commitment to service excellence and philanthropy. This role is instrumental in building and nurturing relationships with community stakeholders to advance the Foundation’s mission and support Bethany Care Society’s fundraising goals.

The ideal candidate brings proven non-profit sector experience and a strong ability to develop and implement a diversified funding strategy. This includes securing individual and corporate donations, grants, and partnerships to sustain and grow revenue. What You Will Do

  • Lead and execute Bethany Care Foundation’s fundraising programs, including individual and corporate partnerships, new donor prospects and acquisition, and third-party initiatives.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of individual and corporate gift prospects, securing donations ranging from $10,000 to $100,000+.
  • Manage project budgets and fundraising targets, ensuring continuous evaluation and improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, senior management, and site leaders to ensure strategic alignment and optimal fundraising outcomes.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and continuously enhance your skills to remain effective and engaged.

What You Bring:

Education

  • A post-secondary degree in non-profit management, business, or related fields, with 5-7 years of experience in fund development.

Experienc e & Skills

  • Strong relationship-building skills, excellent communication abilities (written and verbal), and a demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage fundraising projects.
  • A solid understanding of fund development best practices and a proven track record in achieving fundraising results.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge and other fundraising software is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required to support Bethany’s initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and nurturing relationships with diverse teams, donors, and stakeholders to advance our mission.
