About the role

Job Description

The Embedded Systems Developer position at SIC Biometrics is a key opportunity within a small, growing engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of biometric products that integrate both hardware and software. Your primary focus will be on embedded systems, working in Linux and Android environments. You will support and enhance existing products while contributing to new product development, with an emphasis on system integration rather than complex hardware design. This position requires independence, the ability to learn quickly, and clear, authentic communication. As part of a growing company, your work will have an immediate and visible impact. The role can be performed remotely, with opportunities to help expand and strengthen the engineering team as the company grows.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain firmware and/or software features for biometric data capture devices, with a focus on embedded systems. Participate in hardware/software integration (simple integrated hardware, without DSP or FPGA design), working closely with the engineering team. Work within Linux and/or Android environments based on product requirements, while continuously expanding your knowledge of the technologies used. Support and enhance existing products while contributing to the development of new products. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, technical pre-sales) to clarify requirements, investigate technical challenges, and propose practical solutions. Clearly document your work, including technical approaches, design decisions, and testing, while communicating effectively within a small, fast-growing team.
