Elevate Your Industry Career! We are looking for a skilled individual to join our team as a Production Manager
Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Ownership
- Own overall production performance across all shifts, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, scrap, labor efficiency, and throughput.
- Establish and deploy manufacturing strategy aligned with plant and corporate objectives.
- Translate plant-level goals into measurable production targets and hold leadership team accountable.
- Lead capacity planning and workforce planning to support forecasted demand.
- Ensure operational readiness for growth, new product launches, and capital expansions.
- Serve as primary escalation point for significant operational disruptions.
Financial & Resource Accountability
- Develop and manage the production department operating budget.
- Own labor cost performance, overtime management, and productivity metrics.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
- Participate in capital planning and ROI justification for equipment investments.
- Monitor and improve asset utilization and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Directly manage and develop production supervisors and senior supervisors.
- Build leadership bench strength and succession plans.
- Lead performance management processes for supervisory staff.
- Establish accountability standards across shifts.
- Drive cultural alignment and engagement initiatives.
- Ensure consistent policy application across the production organization.
Continuous Improvement & Technical Advancement
- Set the long-term continuous improvement roadmap for the production function.
- Sponsor and prioritize Lean initiatives aligned with plant performance gaps.
- Oversee Kaizen portfolio selection and sustainability tracking.
- Drive process standardization across shifts.
- Partner with Engineering and Maintenance on technical upgrades and automation initiatives.
- Ensure robust root cause methodology is institutionalized.
Labor Relations & Compliance
- Partner with HR on contract administration and labor strategy.
- Participate in grievance resolution and contract interpretation.
- Support collective bargaining preparation.
- Ensure supervisors are properly trained in CBA compliance.
- Promote proactive labor-management engagement.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as core member of the plant leadership team.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and HR to drive plant performance.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives impacting production output.
- Present operational performance and improvement plans to senior leadership.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field.
- 7–10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- 3–5 years leading other supervisors or managers.
- Demonstrated ownership of manufacturing KPIs and budget accountability.
- Strong Lean manufacturing and CI leadership experience.
- Experience leading in multi-shift environments.
Preferred
- Experience in union manufacturing environment (if applicable).
- Experience with capital project leadership.
- Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and production planning systems.

- Salary range: 100-120k CAD
