WAGE RATE: $37.071 – $38.157
Reporting to the Manager of Critical Care, Owen Sound Site, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) works collaboratively in an inter-disciplinary team to provide care to those patients with a stable and predictable outcome. The RPN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency, utilizes the nursing process to assess plan, implement and evaluate patient care, addresses health educational needs for patients and families, and other health care providers, manages patient care assignments as well as other organizational tasks related to patient unit operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited college nursing program
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Successful completion of a Basic Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation course or willingness to complete within three months of hire
- Successful completion of Coronary Care 1 course or willingness to complete within six months of hire
- Successful completion of Coronary Care 2 course or willingness to complete within 12 months of hire
- ACLS certification or willingness to complete within 12 months of hire
- Brightshores Code Blue course (annually)
- Two years recent acute care nursing experience
- Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
- Participation in quality improvement initiatives on the unit
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
- Adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’ Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment
- Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
